One Pan Chocolate Cake with Lazy Chocolate Frosting

I used the same 9" by 13" non stick cake pan to mix the cake batter , and to bake it.  I am hoping that my kids and hubby will bake this for me on my birthday..

Served with nutella toped vanilla ice-cream and chopped cashews.   If the lazy chocolate frosting hardened microwave cake for 30 sec before cutting.  


One Pan Chocolate Cake (Adapted from Kitchen Aid recipe book)

You will need:

9" by 13" non stick cake pan
Wire whisk
Measuring cups 
Measuring spoons
3 1/3 cups cake flour
2 cups sugar
2/3 cups cocoa powder
1/2 cup water 
2 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup melted unsalted butter
1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven at 350 F.  In the cake pan whisk together the dry ingredients.  Then add the eggs, milk, and melted butter.  
Carefully stir the contents until most of the lumps are gone.  Wipe off any excess batter on the  lip of the pan.  Bake in the oven for 22 - 26 minutes or until toothpick comes out with some moist crumbs.   Baking time varies from one oven to another.
While the cake is hot sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the cake.  When the chocolate chips appear glossy take an offset spatula and spread the chocolate chips on top of the cake.  

If frosting hardened microwave for 30 seconds before cutting cake.  ENJOY!!!
